2012-2013 PTA Board Nominations


Currently we are looking for nominees for the 12 board member positions. If you would like to have a more active role in your childs school and education, being a part of the PTA Board is a great way to get involved! Or maybe you know of someone who would like to be more involved and would be a great asset to the school!

Please email Karrie Lancaster (karrielancaster@msn.com) with your nominations and any questions you might have about PTA Board positions by Friday, January 27th.

Here's a brief description of each Board Member position:


OPEN POSITIONS

PRESIDENT Oversees all aspects of PTA at school, organizes and leads board and association meetings, attends meetings for PTA, school district and committees, signs contracts and checks for PTA
TREASURER Keeps record of all monetary transactions, writes and signs checks, works with committee chairs on budgets, presents budget to board and association, releases funds with motions
FINANCIAL SECRETARY Assists treasurer with counting, deposits, and reimbursements
AUDITOR Reviews financial records, makes reports for all levels of PTA
SECRETARY Records minutes at board and association meetings, reviews and signs accounting paperwork, becomes familiar with by laws
 HISTORIAN Collects and organizes volunteer information for committees and communication, provides recognition for volunteers
 PARLIAMENTARIAN Reads and becomes familiar with by laws, makes sure laws are being followed
 PROGRAMS Leads student programs organized by PTA; ex. after school programs, art, assemblies and music. Fills in for President
 WAYS AND MEANS
Leads fundraising efforts at school
 MEMBERSHIP Leads membership drive, distributes brochures and membership envelopes, advertises PTA membership at events, reports membership numbers to all levels of PTA
 COMMUNITY AND EVENTS
Oversees community events
 STUDENT EVENTS
Oversees students events; ex. yearbook and book fair
